When it comes to rugs, most people tend to get stuck on the traditional rectangular shaped rugs since these are the most widely available rugs anywhere. However, more and more homeowners today are trying to think out of the box and are looking for innovative rug designs and unique shapes, which is why round rugs have become very popular in recent times.

Basically round rugs are known as area rugs since they are meant to accent and highlight a particular area in a room rather than cover the entire floor. These can be extremely versatile and are available in not just the perfect circle round, but also in other variations like ovals, oblongs, medallion shapes, half moon and crescent shaped rugs, which all serve different purposes.

However, not many people tend to go for round rugs simply because they are not sure how or where to use them. They hesitate in becoming a little innovative and generally end up investing in yet another rectangular rug for using in their home. The truth is that round rugs can be used in so many different ways and in so many areas in the home that it is easy to fit it in almost anywhere.

These rugs are also smaller in size and do not take up much space, which is why they are ideal for even the smallest of spaces. Given below are some of the ways in which you can use these rugs in your home:

* The best place for round rugs is at the entrance of the house, since the hallway there is of the ideal size where these can fit in. Also, when people enter the house they would first be seeing the rug and it can add to the décor of the space.

 * Another place to use them is under a coffee table. Even if you have a square or a rectangular coffee table, a round rug would go well under it and create a unique focal point in the room.

* If you are using a round dining table you could place a rug under the table. The shape of the rug would go well with the dining table and accentuate the look of the room. * You could even place it under the table in a study room or in the bedroom close to the bed.

* Round rugs go well in children’s bedroom, especially because some of these rugs come in interesting and colorful designs which would appeal to children.

* If you have a patio and you have a seating arrangement there you could place a rug under the table there for decoration purposes. However, you should keep in mind that if you are using a rug outdoors you would have to maintain it quite well and keep it clean at all times. The rectangular rugs might be very famous and easily available, but round rugs give that edge and a unique look to any space. Due to their versatile nature, these rugs can be perfect for any home and any space.
