Reception Chairs Explained
We have solid blocks of cement for the park seating, and we have those soft luxurious velvety seats at fine dining restaurants. We have couches and sofas in the house for entertaining, and accordingly we have dining chairs beside those long tables for dinner party entertaining. Like the different dresses we wear for every appointment or occasion, chairs are unique depending on the utility.
So what do offices prepare for their guests or clients? We have reception chairs for that, not an office chair, With a magazine along with that coffee table, these waiting room furniture are a complete way of welcoming them in the reception area. It like as if you are greeting them already without uttering a word, or even with just that smile.
Are you expecting a long line of patients and would want them to get comfortable? Then you can go for those couches, as you would when entertaining people at home. Do you own a bus station office that expect a lot more people coming in and out without much consideration of getting hugged by those couch fabrics? Then there are those steel manufactured reception chairs, which can come in varying colors if you need them.
So why is it that even reception chairs vary as receiving areas? Here's the thing. When you own a coffee shop, would you want people to lounge and relax and get really comfortable? That's a resounding yes, right? But do you think this would work if you place that in those fast food chains?
Then you have the answer. Reception chairs vary as how other chairs are constructed because of their utility. And how colorful they are? It goes with the design, and probably of preference. You wouldn't want to place in those bright colored reception chairs if you're giving that impression of executive feel right?

Placing it appropriately where it is appropriate. It doesn't mean though that those steel chairs are less of a greeting than those couches. It simply means that the nature of how people will be seated on them should be appropriate accordingly.

Yes, they primarily are for sitting on, but then again, would you dress up in skimpy dress for a corporate formal dinner? Function and utility—as it is, each one is unique, just like everyone else.
